Sting WWE Debut: Steve Borden vs. Undertaker Likely Sidelined For Sting vs. Triple H Bout [VIDEO]

Steve "Sting" Borden's surprising Survivor Series debut has led to a lot of speculation as to what's next for him and it appears as though plans for a Sting vs. Undertaker match may be over with and the company will now likely have him face Triple H at WrestleMania 31.

WWE Monday Night RAW Spoilers and Preview

Sting has always talked about wanting to face The Undertaker and now that he joined the WWE it seemed as though the long-talked about match would finally come to fruition.

After Sting debuted and interfered in the main event at Survivor Series, it then appeared that a Sting vs. Triple H match was set up and that seems to be the direction the WWE is going in. Sting has also mentioned wanting to face Triple H if he couldn't battle The Undertaker in past interviews.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Rob Feinstein of RF Video, who has broken factual WWE news in the past, revealed hour before Sting's debut last Sunday night at Survivor Series that a Sting vs. Triple H bout is in the works.

Prior to Sting's debut, Feinstein wrote that the WWE had scrapped plans for a potential Sting vs. Undertaker bout.

"From what I [have] been hearing I think Undertaker is done and the plans are for Sting and HHH at Mania...but anything can change but that is what I have been told," he wrote.

There were reports last week that perhaps Sting was gearing up for more than one match in the WWE as he could work with Triple H and then The Undertaker, but that is uncertain.

The Undertaker's status in the WWE has been up in the air since he lost The Streak to current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX in April and suffered a head injury.

The ailment combined with the loss of the unbeaten record led to a lot of doubt about 'Taker competing at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 in Santa Clara, Calif., where Sting's first WWE bout is expected to take place.

It now seems as though Sting and Triple H will go head-to-head at the Show of Shows in 2015 as Sting performed the Scorpion Death Drop on "The Game" and then aided Team Cena to victory at Survivor Series to set up the feud.

Sting vs. Triple H is the likely direction the WWE will go in for Sting's first match in WWE -- and possibly last bout of his career -- at WrestleMania 31.
