Kevin Durant Injury Update: 'KD' Conquers Lil B Curse? Top Athlete & Celebrity Feuds [VIDEO]

The Oklahoma City Thunder and their fans will rejoice tonight, as reigning NBA MVP Kevin Durant will take the court for the first time this season. Durant has missed the Thunder's first 17 games with a broken bone in his foot, and without him OKC has fallen to 5-12, good for third place in the Northwest Division.

Durant may not be out of the woods, however. Rapper Lil B claimed responsibility for Durant's foot injury, claiming the Based God's curse had struck. Durant and Lil B have a bizarre feud that remains ongoing because Durant insulted Lil B's music, and reneged on a pledge to play the rapper one-on-one in a basketball game. Lil B was so incensed he actually recorded a track called "F**k Kevin Durant."

The beef was thought to be settled, but when Durant's injury was announced Lil B responded with glee on Twitter.

"I THOUGHT THE CURSE WAS OVER BASEDGOD! PLEASE I NEED TO TALK TO " THE BASEDGOD " I THOUGHT THE CURSE WAS OVER ! (SCREAMING) - Lil B," the rapper tweeted.

Durant is likely not worried. He is a four-time NBA scoring champion, the MVP of the league, and forms one of the NBA's best rosters with Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka.

This got SWN thinking about some other notable feuds between athletes and celebrities.

Spike Lee vs. Reggie Miller

Director Spike Lee is the ultimate Knicks fan, so like any self-respecting Knicks fan, he couldn't stand Pacers guard Reggie Miller in his heyday. There wasn't any Twitter back then for Lee to antagonize the Pacers' sniper, so he just did it in person.

The rivalry culminated during the 1994 playoffs, when Miller famously pantomimed a choke sign at Lee while repeatedly drilling shots in Madison Square Garden, earning himself the moniker "Knick Killer."

Sebastian Telfair vs. Fabolous

Durant's current teammate Sebastian Telfair was involved in an incident with rapper Fabolous, which wasn't as light-hearted as KD's feud. Telfair was robbed of thousands of dollars of jewelry outside a New York restaurant by people supposedly connected to Fabolous.

Hours later, Fabolous was shot in the leg outside of a nightclub. Police were involved, both sides cooperated, and nothing came of the matter. While Telfair wasn't proven to be responsible, the legend lingers.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. T.I.

The world's greatest boxer almost got it on in a burger joint with T.I., the self-proclaimed "King of the South" over rumors that Mayweather was hitting on T.I.'s wife Tameka "Tiny" Harris.

T.I. apparently misconstrued Mayweather's relationship with his wife and picked a fight with him in a Las Vegas Fatburger that incited a raucous scene. During the fight, Mayweather can be overheard telling T.I. to "control your b***h."

The situation has cooled since then, and all appears quiet on that front for boxing's pound-for-pound king.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. 50 Cent

Mayweather has a hard time getting along with rappers doesn't he? Mayweather and 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, used to be the best of buds. 50 even accompanied Floyd to the ring a number of times. At some point their relationship soured, though.

It's unclear what caused their friction, but Mayweather's refusal to help 50 Cent embark on a career promoting fighters couldn't have helped. It got ugly during the height of the ALS Ice Bucket challenge's popularity.

50 offered to pay $750,000 to any charity of Mayweather's choosing if he could read a single page of a Harry Potter book. The stunt brought about rumors that Mayweather was illiterate, and brought to light another video of the boxing champion struggling to read a radio promo.

Kobe Bryant vs. Drake

Drake almost got himself bit by the "Black Mamba" for lyrics he rapped on the remix of "Stay Schemin," in which he took shots at Bryant's wife, Vanessa.

"Kobe 'bout to lose a hundred fifty M's

Kobe my n***a I hate it had to be him

B***h you wasn't with me shooting in the gym

(B***h you wasn't with me shooting in the gym)"

Bryant was understandably displeased about Drake inserting himself into his marital woes, and has since reunited with Vanessa Bryant.

Kobe's wife responded harshly to the lyrics saying, "I love when immature kids quote a rapper that has never been friends with Kobe and knows nothing about our relationship. Just shows how gullible they are. I don't need to be in the gym. I'm raising our daughters, signing checks and taking care of everything else that pertains to our home life."

Drake himself issued an apology.

"That line came from a conversation about being this young and making this much money and the fear of losing it all. I just used his potential situation to address my own life. I never intended to offend Vanessa or anyone else. That line had everything to do with me and what goes on in my head as a 25 year old man with this much income flowing in. Kobe is and always will be a friend and an icon to me."
