Ronaldinho Transfer News: African Side, Not Los Angeles Galaxy The Likely Next Destination?

Having failed to qualify for the Liga MX playoffs, the future of Ronaldinho at Queretaro remains a question mark. The 34-year-old has been heavily linked with the Los Angeles Galaxy, but according to Caughtoffside, Africa is a possible destination.

Per the reports, Angolan side Kabuscorp is interested in acquiring Ronaldinho's service. On Tuesday, club president Benedicto Kangamba outlined his intentions.

"We are striving in negotiations with Ronaldinho's agent to bring him here for one year," Kangamba said. "With this type of player, we can win the CAF Champions League and then we can play in the Club World Cup, and thus face European teams."

Gigi Buffon: Ballon d'Or 'Will Go to Cristiano Ronaldo, but Lionel Messi 'Best Overall'

"That is the dream of any president of a club".

The question is: Is it a realistic one?

All signs point to yes, with the precedence coming in the form of Rivaldo. In 2012, the former World Cup winner and teammate of Ronaldinho signed a one-year deal with Kabuscorp. Angola also has the added advantage of Portuguese being the nation's spoken language, making assimilation to life in Africa easier on the native Brazilian.

Despite his age, Ronaldinho showed no signs of slowing down in 2014. In nine appearances with Queretaro, the 34-year-old finished with three goals and 16 total chances created. His mere presence with Los Gallos Blancos was enough to rejuvenate a club desperate for relevance in Mexican football.

With Kabuscorp sharing the same ambition, Ronaldinho's future could take a turn toward an ideal situation.
