Seattle Seahawks Rumors: Richard Sherman, 'Legion Of Boom' Not Concerned About Chip Kelly Offense [VIDEO]

The Seattle Seahawks have an important showdown coming up with the Philadelphia Eagles that will go a long way toward determining the playoff fate of each team. The 8-4 Seahawks travel east to face the 9-3 Eagles on Sunday afternoon, and a lot of the chatter has centered on the matchup between the Seattle defense and the Philadelphia offense.

Manziel To Become Permanent Starter If Browns Lose?

The matchup is a bit of the old "unstoppable force against the immovable object" trope, and that is exactly what people are looking forward to about the game. The Seahawks defense struggled earlier in the season, but they appear to be clicking now after holding the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers to a combined six points in the last two games, both of which were road games for Seattle.

On the other side of the field will be the Eagles offense, which moves at a blistering pace and rarely fails to light up the scoreboard.

According to media reports, the Seahawks are not intimidated by the pace of the Philadelphia offense. "We know that they'll go real fast, and we'll see how much they want to do that," said Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. "We're not concerned about that, really. We practice like that all the time because you never know when a team is going to do it."

Chip Kelly Not Interested In Florida

Richard Sherman also had a take on it, saying, "It doesn't change anything for us. We've dealt with tempo for a couple of years now. We've dealt with the Patriots' tempo, Denver a few times with their tempo. It doesn't change a thing for us. We play disciplined, sound football. It gives you more opportunities."

The tempo may not end up being as much of a factor as the schematic tricks that the Eagles employ to get their playmakers into space. Philadelphia quarterbacks often have two, three, or even four options on every play, and defenses often struggle to contain them all. The Seahawks defense is as good as anyone's, but Chip Kelly designs his offense to test the limits of a defense. The Legion of Boom will need to be at their best to earn a road win on Sunday.
