Sir Alex Ferguson and Gareth Bale Claim Barclays End-Of-Season Awards

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and Tottenham midfielder and star player Gareth Bale have been awarded with Barclays Manager and Player of the Year awards, respectiveley.

Ferguson won the award after leading United to it's record breaking 20th title, the 13th time the club has won it under the Scot's management. Ferguson has been named Manager of the Season a record 11 times, first taking the honor in 1993 and winning it for the last time as he retired at the end of this season.

For Gareth Bale the award is the midfielder's fourth individual award of the season, after winning both the PFA Player of the Year award and the Young Player of the Year award, as well as being voted the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year this year.

The 23-year-old welsh has scored 20 goals in 33 EPL appearances this season, becoming the first Spurs player in history to claim the Player of the Year award.

This award becomes the perfect way to celebrate the Scot's retirement; he led the Red Devils to a 10-point lead on the league table with one match left to play.

Ferguson made the right moves in the summer transfer market to sign Robin Van Persie, and turn the tide back in Unites favor, having to compete with financially powerful clubs such as local rivals Manchester City and London-based Chelsea.

Bale is one of the most talked about players in England right now and talks of him moving away from White Heart Lane have no stopped since the beginning of the season. Real Madrid seem like favorites to get the Welshman's signature, but Manchester City, Chelsea and PSG are very interested in the young player's sercives.
