Dolph Ziggler WWE Rumors: 'Showoff' Discusses Being Next Big Star, His PPV Success and More [VIDEO]

WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler recently spoke about trying to be the next top guy and his successful run over the course of the last two pay-per-views.

Ziggler sat down with Michael Cole and discussed his great run where he came back from a 3-on-1 deficit at the Survivor Series and won the match for Team Cena last month.

"What a night for myself, other Superstars and the WWE Universe," Ziggler said about the Survivor Series. "There was a lot of pressure going into that night. There were a lot of things put on my plate from The Authority in the weeks leading up to that and I promised Team Cena no matter what I wouldn't let them down. I wouldn't let them lose their jobs."

Ziggler then touched on winning the Intercontinental Championship at TLC in a Ladder Match against Luke Harper in his hometown of Cleveland.

"What a night," Ziggler said. "Every step of the way of that match, I knew I couldn't let so many fans [down] that for years have been waiting and waiting for an opportunity to get behind me and help push me to that next level and I knew if I could get my hands on that Intercontinental Championship and make it mean to them what it means to me, I knew that it would start a rebirth for the Intercontinental Title. It could make it that stepping stone."

The four-time Intercontinental Champion talked about the emotion of the title victory.

"Winning titles is a huge step in a career for a Superstar," he said. "Just having been through so much the last couple months. Months and years of fighting and scratching and clawing and getting close and saying, 'Na, you're not quite he guy for the position' and knowing it was out there. And now having even more of the WWE Universe behind me every single night, I knew if I could find my way to get through this Ladder Match -- make it one of the best things anyone has ever seen and come out as the champion -- I knew we could make that title what it means to me."

Ziggler also talked about his win over "Mr. Money in the Bank" Seth Rollins on Tuesday's Super SmackDown Live.

"Still left over from that Authority thorn in my side," Ziggler said. "So many times I've faced-off with Seth -- so many times with 'Mr. Money in the Bank' -- and [getting] this close and [letting] everyone down. And finally, finally I got to beat him in the middle of the ring and show everyone I'm right where I deserve to be because of them and because of my hard work."

"The Show Off" also commented on what's next for him.

"I see this as a stepping stone," Ziggler said. "This is a first step in the right direction. This is a chance for everyone who's been really close to breaking through that glass ceiling and couldn't get it done. Let me be the one who busts it open and leads the way through. Let me be the one that says, 'from here on out you can make it, you can make it with the WWE Universe behind you and everything you do, you do it to be the best.' And I do."

Lastly, Cole asked Ziggler if he thinks he is all hype, as he did in August.

"To be honest, it almost angers me as much as it did [in August]," Ziggler said. "Not a chance. Dolph Ziggler is me and what I am is -- everything I stand for is -- the hardest working man in sports entertainment. Someone who has fought for 10 years to be the man because I want to be. Not because I have to, not because I think it looks cool [and] I think it'd be fun. I have to. I have a chip on my shoulder that's so big that you wouldn't believe it. I don't sleep at night much because I think about tiny mistakes I've made. This is on the right track, I'm gonna be the man around here."
