Manchester United Transfer News: Gareth Bale £90 Million Bid Prepared, Atletico Madrid Accepting £20 Million for Joao Miranda

Sitting eight points behind Chelsea in the table, Manchester United are preparing two bids to erase the deficit come May. According to Fichajes (via Goal Transfer Talk), the Red Devils are lining up a £90 million move for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale.

Unfortunately for the club, the Welshman has no ambitions of departing the Spanish capital. Amid a 21-match unbeaten streak and the defense of a Champions League crown, it's obvious as to why.

In more realistic and plausible news, Atletico Madrid are willing to accept a £20 million bid for Joao Miranda. Manager Louis van Gaal was reportedly prepared to launch a similar bid in November for the defender (via the Daily Star), but Miranda's £24 million release clause remained an obstacle.

Per the reports, that's no longer the case.

What is the case, however, is the center-back's unwillingness to depart the Vicente Calderon. In the same aforementioned report, Miranda vocally expressed his desires to remain in Madrid. "I think that it's normal footballers to leave the club when they have found success," he said. "Staying at Atleti was the best for me and my family."

"I'm very happy to be at Atleti," Miranda added. "I love Madrid and this is a great club."

United's project and return to relevancy is nearly complete. Only eight points back, not only is returning to Champions League play feasible, but so too is winning the league. Departing success in Madrid for a "project," however, is pointless for two footballers chasing glory.
