There has been speculation that Brock Lesnar may leave the WWE to return to UFC when his current contract expires the night after WrestleMania 31 and there are rumors that "The Beast" is slimming down for a return to the octagon.

WWE SmackDown Spoilers For Final Edition of 2014

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that there is a belief that Lesnar may be looking to trim his weight down to around 285 pounds or smaller to train for a return to the octagon. Lesnar has been away from the sport for four years due to dealing with diverticulitis, which caused him to retire from it.

If Lesnar does decide to return to UFC, he will be almost 38. Lesnar reportedly hasn't ruled out re-signing with the WWE, though the company has given him lucrative contracts for part-time appearances over the last few years and may not be in a position to do that again.

UFC, meanwhile, may be in a better position to sign Lesnar than the WWE is due to the money they can offer him. UFC president Dana White said he is open to "The Beast" returning, but it is unknown at this time if Lesnar will in fact choose to make a comeback.

Lesnar is the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion and is slated to have a big part in the storylines going forward leading up to WrestleMania 31.

Lesnar, of course, ended The Streak of The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX last April and used the momentum to defeat John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam in August.

Lesnar then lost to Cena via DQ in their rematch at Night of Champions in September after Seth Rollins interfered in what was his last in-ring action to date.

"The Beast" then took time off and missed the Hell in a Cell event in October, the Survivor Series pay-per-view in November and the TLC: Tables Ladders and Chairs (and stairs) special event earlier this month all while holding the gold.

Lesnar made his return to the squared circle on last week's edition of Monday Night RAW and he is scheduled to face Cena one more time at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 25 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia in what's being billed as the "Final Battle" between the two.

From there, Lesnar is expected to retain the gold while Roman Reigns is rumored to win the Royal Rumble Match, leading to a WrestleMania 31 main event between the two at Levi's Stadium in California for the belt on March 29.

Lesnar is likely to drop the gold to Reigns that night and then is booked for the next night's edition of RAW, which is the final night that he will be under contract with the WWE.

After that, it is unknown what Lesnar's next move will be, but there is expected to be a bidding war between the WWE, UFC and Bellator MMA for "The Beast's" services going forward.
