Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Dez Bryant 'Not Going Anywhere;' Team To Use Franchise Tag? [VIDEO]

Dez Bryant is having a career year, and it could not come at a better time, as he is looking for a new contract from the Dallas Cowboys. The star wide receiver is set to become a free agent after this season if he cannot come to terms on a new deal with the franchise.

Former Lions Home Stands In Ruins

This season, Bryant has unquestionably established himself as one of the premier wide receivers in the entire NFL. He has 84 catches for 1,221 yards and 14 touchdowns on the season, with the latter mark leading the league. Bryant has also stepped up as a team leader and has done everything the team has asked of him.

All of those factors point to Bryant receiving a monster new contract, and it is believed that he wants a deal that will make him among the highest-paid receivers. It is not out of the question that his new deal could total in excess of $100 million.

Fisher Won't Be Surprised By Winston's Draft Decision

Some have speculated that Bryant and the Cowboys may part ways if the contract negotiations become too acrimonious, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones dismissed the notion during a radio appearance this week.

Franchising Bryant would pay him like one of the top receivers in the game for next season while giving the two sides another year to come to terms on a contract extension that would keep Bryant in Dallas for several years to come.
