Pinstripe Bowl 2014 Predictions and Preview: Penn State Squares off Against Boston College in First Bowl Game Since 2011 [VIDEO]

Boston College takes on Penn State in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium Saturday afternoon. Though the two long-standing programs are a way's away from their glory days when each topped the rankings, this is still going to be a can't miss competitive match-up.

The atmosphere at Yankee Stadium is going to be raucous. Both schools have a heavy and impassioned alumni base in the New York metropolitan area, so expect every seat in the house to be filled. Chants of "Fly Eagles Fly" are going to go head-to-head with screams of "We Are!"

Penn State in particular is going to come out amped for this contest. This is the team's first bowl appearance since 2011. The program was famously banned from bowl play for their mishandling of the Joe Paterno/Jerry Sandusky saga.

Boston College, however, boasts one of the strongest rushing attacks in the nation, averaging about 250 yards per game. They're going to use the ground game to control time of possession and wear down the Nittany Lions' defense. If Eagles quarterback Tyler Murphy can play turnover-free ball, that'll be just enough to win this game.

PREDICTION: Boston College 24, Penn State 20.
