Evander Holyfield May Lose Driver's License For Unpaid Child Support

Former four-time world heavyweight champ Evander Holyfield is in danger of having his driver’s license revoked for unpaid child support, according to TMZ.com.

Holyfield reportedly owes more than $300,000 in unpaid payments and, after months of unsuccessfully trying to secure the money, The Georgia Department of Human Services is said to be contemplating taking such the drastic actions.

TMZ also reported Holyfield, who reportedly has as many as 11 children with several different women, owes one child as much as $500,000 in past due payments. In that instance, he was put on a payment plan and ordered to make monthly payments of $2,950. After making several payments, TMZ reports, he again fail behind and still owes some $327,858.

A Georgia judge has now granted the Division of Child Support Services approval to revoke the former champ’s driver’s license as a motivator for him to pay up, according to TMZ. A hearing has been set for some time in August to check on the status of developments.

Holyfield’s battles with fellow heavyweights Riddick Bowe and Mike Tyson are legendary. He and Bowe split a pair of bouts, each man claiming the title with their victory, and he and Tyson battled in one of the most infamous bouts in boxing history.

Tyson chewed off half Holyfield’s ear after claiming he had been repeatedly head-butted by the ultimately victorious Holyfield.
