Adrien Broner Next Fight: Lucas Matthysse Not Concerned With 'Silence' From 'The Problem,' Focused On Titles [VIDEO]

On September 6 Adrien Broner defeated Emmanuel Taylor by unanimous decision on the same card that Lucas "The Machine" Matthysse stopped an undefeated challenger, Roberto Ortiz, in the second round with a body shot. At the end of the night, Broner boldly called out the Argentine knockout artist.

"Listen, like I said before, I didn't 'kind of' call out nobody. I said, my next fight should be Matthysse. And he can get it," Broner said. "If I could, I'd fight Matthysse with this cut tonight."

As time has passed there's been no movement on that fight, and Broner has talked smack about Matthysse and Marcos Maidana fearing him.

"Lucas knows what's up, man. Those guys don't wanna fight me, man. Maidana don't wanna fight me again. Matthysse don't wanna fight me. They don't wanna fight me. I gave Maidana the worst fight of his life on the worst night of my life. They don't wanna see that again. And I'm healthy," Broner said.

Matthysse is no stranger do being avoided due to his ferocious power punching and current lack of a title, and he's brushing off the lack of effort from Broner's side in making a deal.

"Broner talked about a fight with me on the day that we fought on the same card and there has been nothing since them," Matthysse said. "He is not a defending champion. He has nothing. It would just be a fight where you are taking risks for nothing more than getting your hand raised as the winner."

It appears that Matthysse has also given up trying to convince Danny Garcia to grant him a rematch as well, and is focusing on the vacant WBO title.

Because Garcia's team has informed the WBC they do not want to fight Matthysse until he becomes a mandatory challenger, which would take a year or so, he doesn't want to remain idle.

"It [the Garcia rematch] is the fight that I want but to sit here and just wait...let's just go to the other side where we don't have to wait that long and have the chance to fight for a world title."
