Michael Jordan Advice To Dez Bryant, Cowboys WR: "Stay Out Of Trouble"

There might be a reason you haven’t seen Dallas Cowboys star receiver Dez Bryant involved in nearly as much controversy this offseason.

According to ESPN, Michael Jordan has taken the volatile star under his wing and going into the off season he had one stern piece of advice for him” “Behave.”

Alas, those who say the least sometime say the most and Jordan’s admonishment seems to have affected Bryant in a way few other warnings have.

"The only thing he told me was 'stay out of trouble,' '' Bryant told ESPN said after Tuesday's practice at Valley Ranch.”Hearing it come from him … He is a strong voice. His opinion matters."

The two met during All-Star Weekend in Houston as Jordan was celebrating his 50th birthday. Later, Bryant became just the seventh NFL player on the Jordan Brand by signing a three-year deal with the apparel company.

And according to ESPN, Bryant’s respect of Jordan runs so deep he agreed not to receive payment from the brand for the first year of the deal, instead wanting to prove to his new boss first that he is indeed worthy. Actual payments are set to kick in during the second year.

"It just adds fuel to trying to do things great at all times," Bryant told ESPN. "That's something you don't want to mess up. Now, I do pay attention to that, just because of the fact of who he is and what he is about. Everybody knows Michael Jordan is about his business, so that makes you want to be about yours."
