This Sunday, the WWE presents the 28th annual Royal Rumble event and one Superstar who won't be lurking behind the curtain when the buzzer sounds during the 30-man match is CM Punk.

Punk's last appearance in the WWE came a year ago at Royal Rumble 2014 and he walked out on the company the following night prior to Monday Night RAW. He never returned to action in the WWE.

Punk received his termination papers from the WWE in June on the same day he was married to WWE Diva AJ Lee and said there will never be a working relationship between the two again.

The "Best in the World" ripped the WWE on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast and then signed with UFC last month.

While Punk won't be there Sunday night when the WWE presents the Royal Rumble at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, we here at Sports World News will look at the greatest Rumble moments of the "Straightedge Superstar."

3) The Final Four, Punk's Last Night: Punk's final night in the WWE was one to remember as he entered the 2014 Royal Rumble Match and lasted until the Final Four.

Punk tossed three guys out of the ring that night at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, including Kane -- who came back illegally to eliminate him.

Punk put on a great performance, lasting 49 minutes and 12 seconds and no one knew at the time that when his two feet touched the floor that night, the next thing he'd do is walk out on the company.

2) A Sermon from the "Best in the World": During his run as the leader of the Straightedge Society, Punk entered the 2010 Royal Rumble as the No. 3 entrant.

After he got rid of Dolph Ziggler (No. 1) and Evan Bourne (No. 2), Punk had the ring -- and the microphone -- to himself. Punk then delivered a Straightedge sermon to the fans at the Philips Arena in Georgia.

JTG was the No. 4 entrant and Punk talked about saving him before eventually tossing him over the top rope and continuing his sermon. Punk's speech would continue through the numbers until Triple H came out at No. 8 and tossed him. Punk lasted 10:04 and eliminated five Superstars.

1) A Nexus Takeover: At the 2011 Royal Rumble, CM Punk was the leader of Nexus and the group forged a plan. Punk came out at No. 1 and had to last for seven guys until one of his stablemates came out as Husky Harris (now known as Bray Wyatt) came out at No. 9.

Eventually, Michael McGillicutty (now Curtis Axel, No. 13) and David Otunga (15) came in and a major storyline kicked into gear. The Nexus members cleared the ring and had it all to themselves. They then overpowered the next entrant Tyler Rekks, quickly getting rid of him, and then the same happened to Vladimir Kozlov and R-Truth.

The Great Khali fared a little better, getting rid of one of the Nexus members, but the power was restored when Mason Ryan came out at No. 20 and the numbers game continued.

Nexus controlled the Rumble Match as Booker T made a surprise return and was handled, but John Cena emerged at No. 22 to spoil the party and eliminate the Nexus.

Punk lasted 35:21 and threw out seven other WWE Superstars.

While he won't be at the Royal Rumble this Sunday night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Punk has had many great moments in past Rumble Matches.
