Backstage News On Why ECW Originals Were Kept Out Of Rumble Match

Brock Lesnar was previously advertised to appear at this Thursday's live edition of SmackDown, but he has since been pulled from the ads.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the WWE has pulled "The Beast" from all advertisements that noted he would be there in an apparent change of plans by the company.

Update On Undertaker's Status For WrestleMania 31

WWE added Lesnar to the promotions of Thursday's show on Monday after Monday Night RAW in Connecticut was canceled, but he will no longer be a part of the show.

The WWE postponed Monday's RAW at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. due to the blizzard that hit the Northeast and instead ran a WWE Studios edition of the show with exclusive interviews and some replays of Royal Rumble matches from Sunday night.

The WWE was also forced to cancel Tuesday's SmackDown tapings in Boston and instead moved it to the XL Arena in Hartford on Thursday, where a Main Event taping will take place followed by a live edition of SmackDown.

Lesnar was exclusively interviewed on Monday at WWE headquarters in Connecticut and had his first face-to-face altercation with Roman Reigns in the build for their bout at WrestleMania 31.

Reigns won the Rumble Match from the No. 19 draw and will go on to meet Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in California.

Lesnar defeated John Cena and Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat Match at the Royal Rumble to retain his gold and help set up the main event.

While Lesnar has been pulled, "The Viper" Randy Orton also is no longer advertised for SmackDown. Orton was ready to return at the Royal Rumble, but the WWE has kept him out of storylines and will be doing it again on SmackDown.

It is unknown at this time if Lesnar will work the Fast Lane event on Feb. 22 at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, but he was advertised to appear.

As with SmackDown, the WWE may opt to pull "The Beast" out of the rumored appearance.
