Kurt Busch, Patricia Driscoll Split: NASCAR Driver's Lawyers Accuse Ex-Girlfriend Of Perjury Amid Court Hearing [VIDEO]

The court case between NASCAR driver Kurt Busch and his ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll took another sour turn after Busch's lawyers repeatedly accused his former significant other of lying in her testimony.

Driscoll and Busch are entrenched in a case over Driscoll requesting a no-contact order in Delaware court after Busch allegedly assaulted her last September,

Driscoll, 37, claims that Busch assaulted her in his motorhome at Dover International Speedway last fall and grabbed her by the throat before slamming her head into the wall three times. She also added that she still fears for her safety.

According to Fox News, Busch's lawyers claimed that Driscoll is not being truthful.

"Though the bar for issuing a protective order is admittedly a low one, it should not be cleared on the wings of perjured testimony," they wrote in final written arguments, according to the site. "The testimony and evidence in this case clearly reveals a rejected lover's campaign to 'take down' and 'ruin' the man she had been with for four years, and only after he informed her their relationship was over."

Busch, 36, has denied Driscoll's claims and said he repeatedly told her to leave after she showed up to his motorhome uninvited and let herself in.

The NASCAR driver testified that he did cup Driscoll's face with his hands and told her to leave again.

A Dover police detective gave their testimony and told the court that Driscoll's head "tapped the wall" during the incident. A neighbor of Driscoll said that she had marks on her face and neck afterward.

Busch and his legal team have tried to portray Driscoll as a scorned woman intent on ruining his career and the NASCAR driver also gave testimony that he would never try to physically harm Driscoll because she is a trained assassin.

Driscoll said the claims are "ludicrous" and based on a fictional movie script she has worked on.

Carolyn McNeice, who is Driscoll's attorney, said she believes that her client has put together enough evidence to prove she was assaulted and that she should be granted the no-contest.

"Their closing is just another attempt to smear Ms. Driscoll," McNeice told Fox News in an email.

Busch's lawyers fired back by saying he is the one that needs the protection.

''We respectfully request that the court not reward her perjury and scorched-earth approach of destruction by granting her a protective order," Busch's attorneys wrote. "There is only one person in this duo that needs protection, and it is not Patricia Driscoll - it is Kurt Busch."
