A lot has happened since Alex Rodriguez was suspended for the 2014 campaign due to his involvement with Biogenesis, especially when it comes to the third base position for the New York Yankees.

The Bronx Bombers acquired Chase Headley to play at the hot corner late last season and then inked him to a four-year $52 million contract this offseason with the intention to play him there in 2015.
Rodriguez, who was the incumbent third baseman prior to his suspension, but is expected to assume the designated hitter role in 2015, "reached out" to Headley prior to spring training.

Headley told ESPN New York that A-Rod reached out to him shortly after he re-signed with the Yankees in mid-December, but the two didn't speak about Rodriguez hoping to win his third base job back.
"We didn't talk about that," Headley said Monday per ESPN. "It was just more of an introduction. I think we both care about winning. That's the most important thing and that's what we talked about. That [other] stuff will sort itself out. I'm not going to concern myself with that. I'm going to come out and try to do the best I can to do my job, and however that shakes out it will shake out."
Headley, 30, was acquired from the San Diego Padres in July and hit .262 with the Yankees while hitting six homers and 17 RBI before hitting free agency and being re-signed.
Rodriguez hasn't played since 2013, when he lasted just 44 games and hit .244 with seven homers and 19 RBI.
Rodriguez and the Yankees had a tumultuous year in 2014 after the Biogenesis scandal and A-Rod met with team executives last week to formally apologize for everything that happened.
Rodriguez, a 14-time All-Star and 2009 World Series champion, enters the 2015 campaign in fifth place on the all-time home run list with 654 long balls.
