It has long been rumored that WWE Superstar Sheamus is likely to return as a heel, but now it seems as though he won't only change his character upon his return, but he will be a top villain in the company.

Countdown to WrestleMania 31: 3 Best Moments from WrestleMania V

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Sheamus is set to return to WWE television soon and not only do WWE officials want to bring him back as a heel, but they're looking to make him one of the top bad guys in the organization.

It also appears that the "Celtic Warrior" could be in line for a main event run upon returning. While it's noted he'll be back soon, it's unknown exactly when that will be.

WWE fans last saw Sheamus on Nov. 3 when he was a babyface and lost the United States Championship to Rusev. The mighty Russian has carried the belt ever since and most recently defeated John Cena at Fastlane this past Sunday in Memphis to retain it.

Rusev vs. Cena II is likely going to be a match at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

Sheamus was written off after defending the U.S. Championship against Rusev in that November match on a WWE Network special after a beat down at the hands of Rusev and Mark Henry.

Sheamus used the time off to have surgery for an unknown ailment, but he is said to be healed and ready to return.

There were rumors the "Celtic Warrior" was going to be a surprise entrant in the 2015 Royal Rumble Match, but that obviously never came to fruition.

Sheamus will likely return soon as a heel despite being beat down by two villains last time he was seen and he is probable to return soon as WrestleMania 31 is drawing near.

Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan was rumored for WrestleMania at one point, but Bryan may either face Dolph Ziggler at the "Show of Shows" or join him in the Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match that was announced for the event pitting champion Wade Barrett against several other Superstars.

This leaves Sheamus' status for the biggest show of 2015 up in the air.

Sheamus is set to return soon and it's highly likely that he will be a top heel upon his comeback.
