Usain Bolt News: Stephen Francis Doubtful Sprinter Will Replicate Record-Breaking Times

Usain Bolt is past his prime. At least, that's what one veteran MVP coach believes.

According to Stephen Francis, Bolt won't be able to replicate his record-shattering performances from 2009; however, even he readily admits that the biggest star in the history of track and field only has nature to contend with.

"It's probably unlikely [he'll repeat his times] because the human body is made up in a very weird way, but he is somebody who is full of some surprises," Francis said (via Jamaica Gleaner). "I would think science would say no, but then with Bolt, you never know. We just have to watch and see just like everybody else."

"Let's see what the results say. Let's see what the results say."

Francis, who has 33 years of coaching experience, did nothing to doubt Bolt's stardom, claiming that no other athlete will match his celebrity in the near future.

"I don't think anybody else will be at that level," he added. "Michael Johnson was kinda close, but he was 15 years before Bolt. Carl Lewis was years before him. I don't know if anybody will come like him [Bolt] in the near future."

Bolt's results in 2015 included anchoring the Racers Lions to a second-place finish behind UTech at the Gibson McCook Relays. Aware of his time away from the sport, the 28-year-old believes there is still work to be done.

"I think I am getting there," Bolt said. "I am not perfect yet. I am in better shape than last season, but I need a lot more work. My coach will now decide what else I need to focus on."
