Despite mixed reactions, Roman Reigns is set to clash with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 in the biggest main event match of the year for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Reigns, the WWE's hand-picked successor to John Cena, will take on "The Beast" live from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. on March 29.

Reigns won the 30-man Rumble Match and then defeated Daniel Bryan at Fastlane last month to remain No. 1 contender and continue his meteoric rise.

Lesnar, meanwhile, has had one of the most dominant years in WWE history, ending The Streak of The Undertaker last year at WrestleMania XXX and dominating Cena to capture the gold at SummerSlam in August.

Before Lesnar and Reigns clash at the biggest show of the year, here's a look at three possible outcomes to their WrestleMania 31encounter.

3) Lesnar Retains: It has long been expected that Lesnar will be dropping the belt to Reigns here, but much like his match with The Undertaker last year, the WWE could pull off another surprise.

Lesnar has been involved in contract negotiations with the WWE for the past couple of months, so it appears despite rumors that he wants to return to return to UFC, he is very interested in staying with the sports entertainment company.

If "The Beast" and the WWE work out an agreement, it is possible the WWE continues to give him a lengthy run as its part-time champion. Lesnar stormed out on the WWE a couple of weeks ago, but the two sides seem to be heading down the right path since he was on RAW this past Monday night.

This is the least likely scenario since the WWE Championship has been absent from storylines and should be brought back, but the possibility of Lesnar standing tall at WrestleMania remains a possibility if he inks a new deal.

2) Seth Rollins Cashes In: "Mr. Money in the Bank" has walked around with the briefcase for quite some time and it's possible that this could lead to the first ever cash in attempt in WrestleMania history.

Rollins has cemented himself as one of the top heels in the company during Lesnar's lengthy absence and could be deserving of the spotlight at the "Show of Shows" after his likely match with Randy Orton.

This could go one of two ways; with the first seeing Rollins cash in on his old Shield buddy in Reigns and once again spite his former ally to get ahead like he did in June when The Shield broke up.

Or there's a second possibility where Rollins could reunite with his Shield buddies as a "Plan C" and defeat Lesnar for the gold to spite The Authority since the WWE enjoys having babyfaces on top at WrestleMania.

There is actually a third possibility; where Rollins could cash in unsuccessfully, but that would hinder the growth he's had over the past few months.

A Rollins cash in could very well happen at WrestleMania 31, but it isn't the most likely scenario and could occur in the down months of the summer.

1) Reigns wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: For months, Reigns has been rumored to be Vince McMahon's hand-picked next top babyface and the WWE has yet to waver on their goals for him.

Reigns was expected to win the Rumble Match and he did. He was expected to defeat Bryan -- who was used as a pawn to get a good match out of Reigns at Fastlane -- and he did. Now, he's long been expected to defeat Lesnar, and he more than likely will.

The WWE has poured truck loads of money into Lesnar and booked him as a top star because of it. They had "The Beast" live up to his nickname by decimating The Undertaker and dismantling John Cena before putting on a tremendous show in the Triple Threat Match with Cena and Rollins at the Royal Rumble.

This was all done so that Lesnar could look strong only to pass the torch to the next big star, which in the WWE's estimation is about to be Reigns.

Whether or not Reigns going over Lesnar is best for business is debatable, but it is most likely that he stands tall at WrestleMania 31as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
