A Houston realtor is claiming free-agent center Dwight Howard is already in town house shopping and has even scheduled an appointment with the firm the unidentified person works for.
The purported realtor took to Twitter to post: “Dwight Howard is in Houston looking at houses today.” Later on the same Allen OU @THEREALALLENOU page, the person added “I know this because they made an appt. to see one of our houses.”
Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Lakers star big-man let it be known he plans to make his decision public on July 10 and in the meantime will spend the next several days meeting with and weighing offers from teams including the Lakers, Rockets, Mavericks and his hometown Atlanta Hawks.
Though the Lakers can offer him $30 million more than any other suitor, Howard is hardly thought to be a lock for returning to L.A. and the chance to play again with Kobe Bryant. Howard has openly made his frustrations of playing in Coach Mike D’Antoni’s system known.
According to ESPN, after the Lakers were swept out of the first-round of the playoffs by San Antonio, Howard used his postgame interview to inform general manager Mitch Kupchak he felt was misused all season and that he’s chagrined as to why D’Antoni does not look at him as one of the team’s leaders.
