Oh, and there was the small matter of the president's niece receiving a threat prior to the game. According to MSN.com, security was increased around the game after President Obama's niece received a threatening phone message, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The University of Maryland athletic offices received an eight-minute voicemail message in which a woman referred to a man that was driving around campus with a Glock handgun in his possession.

The caller also mentioned that there may have been a link between the alleged gunman and Leslie Robinson, a forward for Princeton's basketball team. Robinson is the daughter of Craig Robinson, who is Michelle Obama's brother.

Robinson herself was not made aware of the threat, although Princeton coach Courtney Banghart was told about it.

Undercover officers were stationed near the Princeton bench during the game, and that was in addition to the normal game security. Secret Service officers were also in the arena because Supreme Court justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan were in attendance.

Although he attended Princeton's first-round game, President Obama was not at Monday night's contest.
