The Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder is famous for his stellar play and his trademark dreadlocks. On Thursday, however, the 28-year-old star posted a photo to social media revealing that he had trimmed off those luscious locks for charity.

The Pirates star played it cool when asked about the decision. He told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that it was "no big reason, just time for a change." How modest. No doubt someone, somewhere will be overwhelmingly thankful for his decision to trim his dreadlocks.
Let's hope the new haircut doesn't have a Samson-like effect on McCutchen's performance. The Pirates will need his big bat if they want to make the playoffs yet again in 2015.
