Bill Goldberg Return WWE: Former Superstar Refuses To Allow His Son To Enter Professional Wrestling Realm [VIDEO]

The old adage like father, like son won't pertain to Bill Goldberg and his kid -- at least not where professional wrestling is concerned.

TMZ caught up with Goldberg and the former WWE and WCW World Heavyweight Champion said he won't let his son, Gage, become a professional wrestler as he hopes he shoots for the NFL or kickboxing.

Gage, 8, is an aspiring Muay Thai fighter, but Goldberg doesn't want him to follow his father's footsteps into professional wrestling.

"One thing's for sure, I'll buy a company and have him work for me before he went to the WWE," Goldberg told TMZ. "And I hope to God he goes to the NFL and maybe one day he'll be at glory kickboxing."

Goldberg, who was a defensive tackle in the NFL, had a very successful professional wrestling career.

Goldberg burst on the scene in WCW in 1997 and rattled off an impressive 173-0 streak that was eventually ended by Kevin Nash at Starrcade 1998.

He then jumped over to the WWE in 2003, two years after WCW went under, and he ended up closing out his time with the company in 2004 after an infamous match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX.

Goldberg has been absent from the squared circle ever since that event, but there have been rumors that he may make a comeback soon so that his son could see him wrestle at least once.

Goldberg was in negotiations with Triple H for a WrestleMania XXX appearance last year, but nothing ever materialized as he wasn't enamored with the offer "The Game" and the WWE made him for a comeback.

The former Superstar held the WWE and WCW World Heavyweight Championships one time each, but if he has it his way, his son will never pursue those titles.
