Floyd Mayweather Jr., one of the best defensive fighters in boxing history, believes he will be able to take away what Manny Pacquiao does best on May 2 in Las Vegas. Pacquiao is one of the greatest offensive welterweights of all time, but Mayweather believes he can take advantage of his aggression.
"I just want to look good for myself," Mayweather said. "I want to look very impressive. I'm pretty sure he's going to bring his A-game, and it's all about excitement. I got here somehow, some way. He's a solid competitor, but very reckless, and he makes a lot of mistakes."
Mayweather is on a quest to be perfect in the ring, so that he can live up to the "TBE" that is plastered on so much of the merchandise he sells. TBE stands for The Best Ever, and he hopes to gain some more weight in that discussion by defeating his nemesis.
"A lot of guys do a lot of things wrong, but they are still successful," Mayweather said. "So I want to know what he does right, so I can take that away from him, so I can take that arsenal away from him. What I do, when I'm facing a guy, whatever he does good, I take that away from him, so he has to resort to doing something different."
When questioned further about Pacquiao's recklessness, Mayweather declined to disparage all that Pacquiao has done in his career. "He's been successful. Remember what I said -- you've got guys that make a lot of mistakes but still are successful."
Pacquiao has been dominant during his last three fights, particularly his most recent win over Chris Algieri whom he knocked down six times. But Pacquiao was indeed reckless in 2012 when he was knocked out cold by Juan Manuel Marquez.
