New York Knicks Rumors: Phil Jackson Won't Draft Karl-Anthony Towns Because Of Butt Size? [PHOTO]

The New York Knicks are enduring what is possibly the worst season in the history of the franchise. Fortunately, they have two positives that they can take away from it: first, the season is nearly over (and fans can move on to watching the Yankees struggle), and second, the team is going to have one of the best chances - if not the best chance - of landing the top pick in this summer's NBA Draft.

LeBron A Cry Baby?

There is some speculation about who will go number one overall in this year's draft, but the consensus seems to be that Duke prospect Jahlil Okafor and Kentucky prospect Karl-Anthony Towns are the best two players available. According to the New York Post, the Knicks will have no interest in Towns come draft time.

Charley Rosen, a longtime friend and confidant of Knicks President Phil Jackson's, says that he thinks the Knicks need to add a center in order to make their Triangle offense function correctly, and he adds that the he does not think the team will go after Towns.

"They need a center with a big butt to hold space,'' Rosen said. "They didn't have anybody like that. It takes away a major portion of what you can do with the triangle because then it really becomes just a perimeter offense.''

Rosen says that he cannot give insight about Okafor because he has not watched Duke play much, but after watching Kentucky and Towns, he says, "Towns is not a big enough body. He'd never get that position in the NBA. He doesn't have enough power or core strength. He wouldn't be able to set up one dribble away from the basket. He's not a kind of center you need in the triangle. He's not physically that type of center, but he's athletic and does other things. Look how far out (Lou) Amundson, (Jason) Smith and (Andrea) Bargnani get pushed out when they post up, well out of the box.''
