Kayla Chadwick Body Found [VIDEO]: Teenager's Remains Found 15 Months After Going Missing; Boyfriend, Ivan Torralba Arrested, Under Investigation

Colorado teenager Kayla Chadwick, 17 years old when she disappeared, has turned up dead a year after going missing following a fight with her 19-year-old boyfriend Ivan Torralba.

Chadwick's body was found near the Fort Morgan airport in Colorado on June 27th, according to authorities speaking to The Denver Post.

"We haven't been able to determine cause or manner of death," said Jared Crone, a member of the Fort Morgan Police Department. "There is still a lot of follow-up to do before we can draw any conclusions."

She went missing on March 28, 2012, and Torralba, who is believe to be the last person to have seen Chadwick alive, was arrested on November 8th for four counts of perjury, one count of tampering with physical evidence, and attempting to influence a public servant.

According to The Denver Post, his arrest was made "in connection" with the investigation of Chadwick's disappearance, but he was not arrested as a suspect in the kidnapping. He was eventually released on a $250,000 bond.

On June 18th, Torralba was arrested again for possession of marijuana, which caused his probation to be revoked. His mother, Lucila Torralba, was also arrested on June 18th for perjury and attempting to influence a public figure.

"We're not going to name anyone as a suspect or person of interest," Crone said. Chadwick's aunt, Chris Ferguson, firmly believes Torralba was involved in the slaying of her niece, though. "She was murdered and we're seeing justice," Ferguson said. "Biggest thing (Kayla) did wrong was love the wrong person."

The case has shaken the small Fort Morgan community, according to Crone. "With the 22 years I've been here, we haven't had anything this extensive ... any missing persons case for this long ... it's very unusual," Crone said. "I can't remember the last homicide we had. I believe it was October 2010 was the last one we had."
