Adrian Peterson Rumors: Minnesota Vikings Former MVP 'Highly Unlikely' To Face Further Suspension [VIDEO]

Adrian Peterson sat down across the table from Roger Goodell to candidly discuss his future and whether or not he should be reinstated earlier this week. There are still many questions surrounding Peterson and his future, especially after he revealed that he is looking forward to starting a new chapter in life, which seems like another overture about leaving Minnesota.

In the wake of the meeting with Goodell, it now appears that Peterson will not face any more sanctions from the league. He is still on the Commissioner's Exempt List for the time being, but when he comes off of it, he should not face another suspension, according to NFL.com.

That is undoubtedly great news to Peterson, who went into the Goodell meeting wanting to "weigh in on why he believes he should not be suspended, why he should not face additional penalty when he comes off this list."

Peterson still has work to do before he can return to the field, however.

"Peterson wants to have a completely clean slate by the draft," NFL insider Ian Rapoport said. "His point: The Minnesota Vikings have held strong in saying they do not plan on trading Adrian Peterson. They believe he will play for them in 2015. In fact, they want him to play for either them or no one else.

"However, if they are to be tempted with a trade," Rapoport continued, "it is going to come at the time of the draft and Peterson wants to make sure there are no obstacles to him getting on the field in 2015, just in case another team decides to come calling -- maybe like the Cardinals, maybe like the Cowboys."
