CM Punk Return WWE: Former Superstar Makes Surprise Appearance At Colt Cabana's Comedy Show [VIDEO] [PHOTO]

CM Punk is getting set for his UFC debut later this year, but the former WWE Superstar took a break from training and appeared at his good friend Colt Cabana's comedy show on Thursday.

Rumored Matches and Stipulations For WWE Extreme Rules 2015

During Cabana's comedy show at The Pony Inn in Punk's hometown of Chicago on Thursday night, "The Best in the World" came on stage to the surprise of the audience in attendance.

Punk, of course, infamously appeared on Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast in November to break his 11-month silence over what led to his departure from the WWE.

A fan that was in attendance tweeted out a photo of Punk alongside Cabana on Thursday night:

Punk noted on Cabana's podcast that he left the WWE due to his frustration over being "stifled creatively" and he also ripped into WWE doctor Chris Amann.

Punk claimed Dr. Amann misdiagnosed a staph infection as a fatty deposit when he showed him a lump on his back and he also alleged that he tried to downplay a concussion Punk believed he received at the Royal Rumble in January 2014, his last night with the company.

Amann responded swiftly with a lawsuit and Punk's wife AJ Lee retired from the WWE a few weeks later, with the likely cause being the forthcoming litigation between her husband and the doctor.

Punk stormed out of the WWE the day after the Royal Rumble and never returned while Lee took a hiatus from the company after WrestleMania XXX to move in with him in Chicago.

The two tied the knot sometime in June and Lee eventually returned to the company despite her spouse's turmoil with the organization.

Punk revealed on the podcast that he received his termination papers from the WWE on his wedding day, something that company owner Vince McMahon publicly apologized for during his interview with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin on the WWE Network in December.

Lee remained with the company even when Punk blasted it on Cabana's podcast and helped revitalize the Divas division in the meantime before taking another hiatus in December.

Punk revealed during that same month that he signed with UFC and Lee was by his side during the announcement, which reportedly drew the ire of some WWE officials.

Lee was also in hot water for her controversial speech at the Slammy Awards as well as due to her publicly calling out Stephanie McMahon on Twitter for the WWE's use of the Divas.

Punk is set to make his UFC debut later this year and is training with Roufusport in Milwaukee while questions remain over what the next chapter holds for Lee, a three-time WWE Divas Champion and two-time Diva of the Year.
