Robert Griffin III Rumors: RG3 Admitting He Didn't Work Hard Enough In Past? [VIDEO]

The Washington Redskins suffered through a disappointing season in 2014 under new head coach Jay Gruden, and if the team does not get its quarterback situation figured out, they could be in for another rough ride when the 2015 season rolls around.

Quarterback Robert Griffin III has fallen out of favor over the past couple of years after a stellar rookie season, and his future with the team beyond the upcoming year is very much in doubt. In the past, people have questioned his work ethic regarding things like film study and learning to read progressions, but he recently spoke out to reassure fans that he and his teammates are working hard this offseason to improve, according to Redskins.com.

"We learned our lessons and we want to move forward this year and be successful," Griffin III said. "We don't come to this offseason program and work as hard as we do to go out there and not succeed. I know the guys are going to come with a mindset, ready to go, take last year, move along from it."

Griffin indicated that the team expects to be much better this season, saying, "Our focus isn't to win one more game, two more games. "We want to win a lot more games than we did last year. We're going to put the work in to make sure it happens."

It has to be nice for the fans to hear such talk from their quarterback, although it also has to be a little concerning since there are reports that the team will not pass on Marcus Mariota if the Oregon prospect is available with the fifth pick. In other words, despite head coach Jay Gruden already handing RG3 the starting job this fall, there really is no guarantee that he will be the man that the team wants under center.
