Dwight Howard Child Abuse: Baby Mama Claims NBAer's Son Is 'Terrified' Of Him

Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets are headed for the playoffs thanks in large part to the strong play from shooting guard James Harden, who is one of the favorites to win the Most Valuable Player award this season. Howard has struggled with injuries, but he does make the Rockets a championship contender if he can stay healthy throughout the playoffs.

Off the court, Howard has been having problems too. He has been going through a child abuse case, although it now appears that he will not face any charges. According to TMZ, Royce Reed, the mother of Howard's child in the case is furious with the decision.

Howard was investigated for hitting his son with a belt buckle, but charges were ultimatley dropped. Reed says that their son is still "terrified" of Howard.

A close friend of Reed's also went on to explain her displeasure with the decision.

"She's extremely upset by the way the system neglected to defend her son," said the friend. "She never asked for Dwight to be arrested. She asked for him to get help and take parenting classes. Her child is terrified of his father."

Howard's attorney also commented on the situation, saying, "Several law enforcement agencies have thoroughly investigated the allegations and all decided against filing charges. It is sad that Royce Reed continues to use her son as a pawn with the media, despite court orders prohibiting her from doing so."

It sounds like there are no winners in this ordeal.
