The Stage
The MLS season is six games in and New York City FC are still trying to pretend to be a professional soccer club. As if the Yankee Stadium backdrop isn't bad enough, the club's six points through six games record is the definition of mediocrity.
Conversely, RBNY have been in stellar form—this despite the league's attempt to keep the club off the pitch. The season is only seven weeks long and the Red Bulls already have two bye weeks. What they don't have, however, is a loss. Victories over D.C. United and the Columbus Crew, coupled with draws with Sporting Kansas City and D.C. United, has the club just two points off first in the Eastern Conference.

Chris Wondolowski can't score against formidable competition to save his life—see this miss from the 2014 World Cup against Belgium—but MLS doesn't always boast formidable competition. In six appearances this season, the 32-year-old has three goals and an average of 1.2 key passes.
