Lance Armstrong Rumors: Bo Jackson Calls 'Livestrong' Founder The 'Godfather Of Cycling'

Everyone makes mistakes, and most of the time, it is not that difficult to get a second chance after doing so. Of course, people have different ways of defining what constitutes a mistake, but most people would probably agree that deliberately cheating at something for a number of years does not qualify.

That is exactly what Lance Armstrong did en route to winning his Tour de France titles, which is why he is one of the most reviled athletes in America these days. But not everyone has turned against Armstrong. In fact, he recently got some support from one of the greatest athletes ever, according to TMZ.

Bo Jackson hosts a charity event every year in his home state of Alabama known as Bo Bikes Bama. The event is a long bike ride (there are multiple distances, depending on each cyclist's skill level) that draws hundreds of people together to raise money for the Alabama Governor's Emergency Relief Fund. The event has been growing each year, and some celebrities always turn up to participate.

This year, Armstrong will be one of the entrants in the race, which is controversial to some people. Jackson views it as a good thing for the race, and adds that he and Armstrong have been friends for a long time and that he thinks Lance is a good person despite his past transgressions.

"Lance isn't perfect," Bo said ... "Nobody is perfect. The only perfect man was nailed to the cross."

As for why Armstrong is joining the race, Jackson said, "This man is doing something out of the goodness of his heart. Lance is the godfather of cycling in my book. If he wants to ride in my charity ride, I'm not going to say no. I'm trying to do something for my people in Alabama."

Jackson also commented on whether or not he could match Armstrong on a bicycle.

"My chances of keeping up with Lance on a bike are the same as Lance keeping up with me on a football field," he said.
