The NXT star had an interesting exchange with the "Best in the World" on Twitter this week where he appeared to accuse Punk of stealing his GTS finishing maneuver.

Punk's GTS finisher came from Itami, who used the signature move in Japan and flashes it in NXT from time to time.

The exchange started when Punk responded to a tweet from Young Buck Matt Johnson and appeared to light-heartedly suggest that he would never steal someone's finishing maneuver:

Itami then chimed in and alluded to Punk lifting his GTS finisher:

Punk of course won't be using the GTS anytime soon because he walked out on the WWE in January 2014 and was given his termination papers from the company in June.

Punk alleged on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast that he was given the papers on the day he married former WWE Diva AJ Lee.

Lee recently joined Punk in leaving the company, announcing her retirement shortly after the WrestleMania 31 event.

The three-time Divas Champion likely left due to an impending lawsuit between her husband and WWE doctor Chris Amann, who sued the former WWE Champion for defamation after he accused him of misdiagnosing injuries several times during the podcast interview.

Punk announced that he signed with UFC last December and he is currently training with Roufusport in Milwaukee with his debut scheduled for later this year.

It's safe to say Punk won't be needing the GTS.
