The Stage
NYC FC are an expansion club and it shows. The team is off to a sluggish start in 2015, boasting a pedestrian six points in seven games. Even worse, the style of soccer played is largely disjointed and dependent on the health of David Villa.
That, however, isn't enough to deter manager Jason Kreis.
"I think it's really important that we try to recognize that right now the results aren't going our way, but the performances are," Kreis said (via MLS). "I have to believe. I've been in the league long enough to know that if the performances continue like this, that the results are right around the corner."
"I have to believe that over the course of the season, we'll get some luck on our side and this will all level out."
The In-Form Player
Few players in Chicago are worth the price of admission. Then again, few players are Harrison Shipp. The 23-year-old has three assists and is averaging 2.2 key passes.
