Britt McHenry ESPN Return: Apologetic Reporter Back To Work, Not Fired For Tow Truck Rant [VIDEO]

Lazy sports fans who were watching the late morning editions of SportsCenter Saturday morning might have been in for a surprise when sideline reporter Britt McHenry popped up on the telecast.

Britt McHenry Goes Postal on Towing Truck Employee

It was McHenry's first televised appearance following the leak of a surveillance video that caught the reporter giving a brutal verbal undressing of a tow truck employee in Arlington, Va. Her remarks earned her widespread condemnation on social media, and a one-week suspension from The Worldwide Leader.

"Back to work. Excited to be covering Caps-Isles today, McHenry wrote, via her Twitter page. "Now that the suspension is over, I want to say again that I’m so sorry for my recent hurtful actions. My remarks were completely out of line."

She continued: "Under no circumstances is it ever acceptable to speak to another human being in the manner in which I chose that night. That’s not who I am as a person and hope those who only know me from this incident will give me a second chance to prove to you how much I value integrity, character and treating people with respect. –Britt"

For what it's worth, McHenry was covering Game 6 of the Islanders-Capitals playoff series, live from the Nassau Coliseum.
