Miami Dolphins Mock Draft: 3 Potential Draft Busts 'Fins Should Avoid in 2015 NFL Draft

There are no guarantees in the NFL Draft. For every Andrew Luck, there are seven Blaine Gabberts. And for every J.J. Watt, there's at least one Dion Jordan.

3 Draft Day Trades Miami Should Consider

Just ask Miami.

With six picks, the Dolphins have the potential of adding immediate impact players this season. They must, however, be the right ones. Below are three potential draft busts Miami must avoid in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Breshad Perriman, WR, Central Florida

Still emotionally scarred from the Ted Ginn Jr. disaster of 2007, the Dolphins should be wary of Perriman's rise of late. Size (6'2"), strength (18 reps) and speed (4.27 40 time) catapulted the 21-year-old up draft boards, but raw route running and a propensity to drop the football proves he is far from the finished product. Per the NFL Network's Lance Zierlein, Perriman had a drop rate of 13.8 percent in 2014. A need at WR shouldn't translate to reaching for one.

Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia

History is not on Gurley's side. Since 2007, these are the running backs taken in the first round: Darren McFadden, Jonathan Stewart, Felix Jones, Rashard Mendenhall, Chris Johnson, Knowshon Moreno, Donald Brown, Beanie Wells, C.J. Spiller, Ryan Mathews, Jahvid Best, Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Doug Martin and David Wilson. In 2014, Marshawn Lynch was the only former first round pick to finish in the top 10 in rushing yards. Add a devastating injury, and there's enough ammunition to steer clear of Gurey at No. 14.

Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Missouri

Given Jordan's recent off-the-field issues, Miami can ill-afford to take on a prospect with additional baggage. Green-Beckham fits that bill. Size, speed and ball skills cannot offset the fact he had issues with drugs in the past and was kicked out of school for a domestic violence incident.

Now, this is not to say all three players will fail to succeed in the NFL, but the potential is there. That is reason enough for Miami to look elsewhere.
