Manchester United Transfer News: Gareth Bale Move Impossible With Real Madrid Transfer Ban

If the rumor mill is to be believed—and it never should—Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers for Gareth Bale (via Fichajes). Manchester United are said to be one of the clubs interested in acquiring his services, along with every other club on the planet.

Real Madrid Have 24 Hours to Sign Chicharito

One problem: Radio show El Larguero (via ESPN FC) claimed on Tuesday that both Real and Atletico Madrid have committed illegal youth transfers similar to those that saw Barcelona banned from signing players until January 2016.

Should the allegations hold true, United's plans to acquire the Welshman will be derailed.

With a transfer ban in place, Madrid will be unable to unleash the annual business practice of splurging on one of the game's biggest names. Maintaining as many key players as possible will be key if the club hopes to compete in multiple tournaments.

The ban, however, isn't all doom and gloom for the Red Devils.

Madrid's pursuit of goalkeeper David De Gea has long been publicized. Unable to make his return home, De Gea would be more likely to agree to a contract extension with United. Per the Independent, the club is willing to pay the Spaniard £200,000 a week to keep him at Old Trafford.

Should he refuse, the opportunity is still there for Los Galacticos to land their man. De Gea's current deal runs until the summer of 2016...the exact moment Madrid's alleged ban will be lifted.

In that scenario, De Gea wouldn't just walk to the Santiago Bernabeu, he'd walk on a free.
