The 14-time major champion announced his break-up with long-time girlfriend Lindsey Vonn over the weekend, and the scars of their separation clearly left their mark.
“This three-day stretch is very tough," Woods said in his media appearance Tuesday. I haven’t slept. And with what happened Sunday it’s been brutal.”
News of Woods and Vonn's break-up was first delivered to fans via Tiger Woods' own website.

“Lindsey and I have mutually decided to stop dating," the statement read. "I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I’ll always cherish our time together. She has been amazing with Sam and Charlie and my entire family. Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It’s difficult to spend time together.”
News of Woods and Vonn's break-up was pretty surprising, even given the fact that athlete relationships tend to be transient in general. It was just a few days ago that Vonn was making the TV publicity rounds, talking about her relationship with Woods in positive terms. And yet, just a little while later, it was over.
