The Cleveland Browns did not draft a quarterback in any round of the 2015 NFL draft, so many media members and fans alike suspect that was a vote of confidence in terms of their belief in Johnny Manziel as a starting quarterback.

Manziel is back training with the team following an off-season stint in rehab, and teammates have already remarked that the 25-year-old quarterback looks night and day compared to his performance in 2014. However, Browns head coach Mike Pettine is pumping the brakes on the Johnny Football bandwagon, at least for the time being.
According to Yardbarker, Pettine told a radio show in the Cleveland metro area that it was "fair to say" that newly-signed free agent Josh McCown is the top contender for the starting gig this year.

“Josh has proven in the right circumstances that he can be successful,” Pettine told The Fan. “I think it was pretty clear to us when we looked into the results of what happened for him a year ago (in Tampa Bay) that a lot of those circumstances were outside of his control that made the year as difficult as it was.”
