Sometimes, it is because the player leaves college early to play professionally. But in rare cases, teams are left with roster holes because of a tragedy, which is always a sad occasion.

One of the best players on the North Texas Mean Green women's basketball team was found dead in her dorm room earlier this week, leaving the team with questions in the wake of the tragic news.
According to MSN, North Texas forward Eboniey Jeter was found dead in her dorm room in Mozart Square Hall on campus on Tuesday at the age of just 21.

A university spokeswoman said that no cause of death has been determined, but foul play is not suspected.
Jeter was a redshirt sophomore from nearby Killeen, Texas, and she was an all-state player at Harker Heights High School.
Last season for the Mean Green, Jeter led the team in shooting percentage, making 71 of her 156 shots, good for a 45.5 percent average. She also had three double-doubles during the season.
"She was a great young lady and a tremendous competitor, but most of all she was a trusted teammate on the women's basketball team and a respected member of the Mean Green family," said UNT Director of Athletics Rick Villarreal in a statement. "As we deal with this loss, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to Eboniey's family, relatives and friends. North Texas won't be the same without her as we have lost a friend and loved one."
