South Carolina Star Jadeveon Clowney, Jay Z In Talks About Roc Nation Alliance

Roc Nation founder and hip hop icon Jay Z is in talks with South Carolina defensive linemen Jadeveon Clowney about inking a deal with the upstart agency, according to the Sporting News.

Clowney is widely projected as one of the top prospects in the upcoming 2014 draft and the legend of his exploits recently grew even more when the 6-foot-6, 274 lb. tackle reportedly ran a 4.46 in the 40-yard dash during a team practice, leaving coaches and teammates as stunned as they were on the day he knocked Michigan’s Vincent Smith’s helmet off on a tackle many consider the best they’ve ever seen.

The hit was nominated for a 2013 ESPY Award as the best individual play of the year. As for his potential alliance with Roc Nation, InsideTheLeague.com reports Clowney has been in discussions with the agency for some time now and the nature of the relationship has been brought to the attention of the South Carolina compliance office.

Roc Nation recently signed Oklahoma City star forward Kevin Durant as its marquee client and as part of a growing stable that also includes MLB’s Robinson Cano, the NFL’s Victor Cruz and Geno Smith and the WNBA’s Skylar Diggins.

It’s all seemed to have left a favorable impression on Clowney, who recently posted on his Instagram account: “You kno we about to turn up Dream coming true.”
