The Preakness Stakes 2015 Odds: American Pharoah, Firing Line & Dortmund Favorites For Undecided Race

The field for the 2015 Preakness Stakes is yet to be decided, but that didn't stop Wynn Las Vegas (via The Courier Journal) from opening the lines.

Unsurprisingly to no one, Kentucky Derby winner American Pharoah opened as the 2-3 favorite with runner up Firing Line (7-1) and third-place Dortmund (4-1) trailing in sequential order. Divining Rod, the fourth and final horse that is Preakness bound at the moment, opened at 20-1.

Trainer Arnaud Delacour believes his Tapit Colt will be better prepared for the second leg of the Triple Crown.

"I don't want to jinx myself, but at the moment he's doing very well," Delacour said (via the Courier Journal). "He has matured quite a bit and he understands more now what's going on."

Danzig Moon, Bodhisattva, Mr. Z, Grand Bili and Tale of Verve are all considering the race, but are yet to confirm. Bodhisattva trainer Jose Corrales' decision to scratch his horse from last Saturday's Parx Derby to keep the Laurel Park's Frederico Tesio winner fresh points to his inclusion.

"You dream, and people just wish to be in those kinds of races once," Corrales said. "They pay a lot of money to get the chance to be in one of those races one day. I have a chance. You never know. Even if he loses, you still go on with life."

Below are the full Wynn Preakness odds as of May 8:
