RG3 Rumors: Washington's QB Situation Not So Dire After All? [VIDEO]

The NFC East has seen some big changes within the division this offseason. Many consider the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles the favorites to win the division in 2015. However, Philadelphia has also been battling Washington for the honor of "least stable quarterback situation" for a few months now.

Aaron Rodgers Dragging Feet On Proposal To Olivia Munn?

While Philadelphia's quarterback situation has completely flipped this offseason, Washington's has been unstable since before last season. The team has repeatedly waffled on the future of Robert Griffin III, and he has been looking over his shoulder at who might take his starting job. But the NFL Draft came and went without Washington adding a quarterback, the team picked up RG3's fifth-year option, and now it appears that general manager Scot McCloughan may finally be warming up to the former Heisman winner.

According to NFL.com, McCloughan cannot wait to see RG3 this season, and that was part of the reason he selected Brandon Scherff with the fifth pick even though Planet Theory lineman Leonard Williams was still available.

Peyton Manning Not Done After 2015?

"I'm very, very excited about seeing him," McCloughan said of Griffin. "(Getting) my eyes on him at practice and the preseason and going forward into games."

"They're hard to find," McCloughan said of quality starting quarterbacks. "For a guy to walk in this league and be rookie and get rookie of the year on the offensive side and win the division is few and far between (in) the history of the NFL. I'm very excited about it. All I see is positives going forward. Now there's going to be some setbacks along the way, but I'm looking for him staying healthy and I'm looking forward to him being a really good player for the Redskins."
