The Philadelphia Eagles landed arguably the most talented offensive free agent available this offseason when they signed DeMarco Murray away from the Dallas Cowboys. Murray was dominant last year for Dallas, and Chip Kelly hopes that he will bring a new level of toughness to Philadelphia's already-potent rushing attack.
Race Driving Chip Kelly's Roster Decisions?
While some question the many roster moves that Kelly has made, at least one Cowboys legend thinks that people are nitpicking Philadelphia's roster too much. According to 247 Sports, Hall of Fame wide receiver turned NFL analyst Michael Irvin says that the Murray signing will make the difference for the Eagles on the field this fall.
"I go Philly, Dallas, Giants," Irvin said, "and Washington right now." Irvin explained that he thought Murray was a truly dynamic playmaker, and that his switch from Dallas to Philly will make enough of a difference to put the Eagles on top in the division (they finished two games back of Dallas last season).

"I'm just getting over the depression of losing DeMarco Murray." Irvin said. "I really thought and felt like I was in a depressive state. I want to upchuck sometimes when (I hear) 'Oh you can put any running back behind that offensive line.'
"You can't tell me, and you can't convince me, that you can just stick anybody in (at running back). If they would have drafted a Melvin Gordon or if they would have drafted a Todd Gurley, then that may be something. But with Darren McFadden? Maybe he'll have some great things going but right now I would take Philadelphia and then Dallas in the NFC East."
Dallas is certainly banking that the offensive line had more to do with Murray's success than people realize. They may also think that Murray is likely to break down after enduring a historic workload last season.
Only time will tell, but look for the debate over who is better to heat up even more as the season draws nearer.
