American Pharoah and Dortmund trainer Bob Baffert (via Forbes): "I don't like the inside. I never like the one-hole. Sometimes they don't break as well. When I was watching the draw and all these numbers were coming up, I go, 'This is not looking good.' I'm just glad I didn't draw that for the Derby I can't believe I drew the 1-2 of all draws. I don't love it, but they'll be easy to watch."
American Pharoah owner Ahmed Zayat (via CNN): "He makes me so comfortable and confident with what he does. It sounds a cliche, but he's like poetry in motion. He glides, it's like his feet don't even touch the ground. He's like a kangaroo and you wouldn't think he was going that fast unless you look at the clock. It's just effortless for him. Plus he's an absolute cat. Typically horses like this can be mean and bite. He likes a pat and loves to be kissed."
