Peyton Manning Rumors: Denver's Star Fading As He's No Longer Ranked Among Elite QBs [VIDEO]

The Denver Broncos are expected to feature more of a run-heavy attack this coming season now that Gary Kubiak has taken over as the head coach. But if the team is going to contend for a Super Bowl title like they hope to, they will still need Peyton Manning to play well and lead the team.

Peyton Manning Hoping Tom Brady Would Get Suspended?

According to the Mile High Report, Manning may not be able to reach the elite level that Denver expects him to any longer. The NFL Network just released its rankings of the league's best quarterbacks, and Manning ranks eighth on the list, which is his lowest ranking in years (maybe ever).

The low ranking allegedly stems from the drop-off in play that Manning exhibited over the final month of last season. If that is the case, then that ranking is a bit unfair, as Manning spent the last several games of 2014 playing with a torn quadriceps muscle.

Peyton Manning Not Done After 2015?

Still, despite the fact that Manning is believed to be healthy and should only get better physically as the season approaches, the lower rating is indicative of the confidence that people have lost in Manning.

Once, he was considered a lock to play well every single game, and you could always pencil his teams in for 12 wins and a playoff berth. Last year, he looked pedestrian at times, and people are now worried that he will show signs of fallibility once again in 2015, which could be disastrous for Denver's Super Bowl chances.
