Colin Kaepernick Rumors: 49ers QB To Donate To Houston Flood Relief After Getting Blasted Over Joke?

Colin Kaepernick has spent the offseason impressing his teammates with his work ethic as he strives to improve his performance on the field and help San Francisco return to the NFC Championship game. At least, that is what he was doing until Houston was struck by major flooding issues.

Colin Kaepernick Slept With Matt Barnes' Wife?

Kaepernick took to social media and made a few jokes about the flooding, which has claimed the lives of many people and caused immense damage in the Houston area. The 49ers' quarterback apologized for his remarks, but the Houston mayor thinks that he should do more than that, according to TMZ.

After hearing about his apology for the insensitive jokes, Mayor Annise Parker's press secretary had some words for Kaepernick on behalf of the mayor's office.

Dallas Regretting Letting DeMarco Murray Leave?

Here is what they had to say:

"Anything Colin Kaepernick said isn't really of concern to us. We're focusing on what's going on here. We still have rain coming. We're focused on getting our residents what they need."

"He apologized. I'm sure he is sorry for what he did, so he is forgiven. This is too serious a situation to hold a grudge."

"If he is truly remorseful, he can donate to our food bank, to the Red Cross. Any of those avenues."

Kudos to Houston for realizing that they have bigger problems and taking the high road regarding Kaepernick. As for an actual donation, Kaep has not said whether he plans to donate anything to the relief efforts, but it would not be a bad move for him to do so, even if he only does it to save some face.
