Caroline Wozniacki, J.J. Watt Update: Romance Again Affecting Dane's Tennis Game? [VIDEO]

It could be déjà vu all over again for Caroline Wozniacki.

The Danish star, ranked No. 5 in the world, was ousted in the second round of the French Open on Thursday by unseeded Julia Goerges of Germany, 6-4, 7-6. She did get twice as far at Roland Garros as she did last year when she bowed out in the first round against Yanina Wickmeyer.

Goerges does own a 3-0 record on clay against Wozniacki, so the defeat was not a total shock.

"She has given me trouble in the past and she gave me trouble again today. So that kind of sucks," said Wozniacki, according to USA TODAY Sports. "I think especially on clay she has a way to make me feel like I'm not playing very well."

Wozniacki's loss last year at Roland Garros was under an entirely different set of circumstances. She entered the French Open off the heels of the stunning announcement by then-fiancé Rory McIlroy that the two had broken up.

Wozniacki, who also was battling hamstring and shoulder injuries, never had a chance. It didn't matter the opponent.

The Dane has a 23-10 record in 2015, which is not terrible. But it's also not indicative of the way she finished 2014 when she poured herself into tennis after the McIlroy breakup and finished as the runner-up at the U.S. Open and the season-ending WTA Finals to Serena Williams.

Wozniacki has bowed out in the second round of both majors this year, the Australian and French Opens. But her season is starting to resemble her pre-McIlroy breakup 2014 when she was losing early in tournaments.

Then, she seemed on the verge of retiring. The engaged star had said she wanted to become a wife and mother, and tennis no longer seemed to be a priority.

Flash forward to 2015 and new boyfriend J.J. Watt accompanied Wozniacki to Paris, and the No. 5 player in the world is gone after two rounds. She has lost two of her last three matches.

It may be a coincidence but if Wozniacki and Watt are getting serious, it may not be a surprised if her game continues to suffer.
