Dwyane Wade Custody Battle Update: Judge Orders Miami Heat Star To Turn Sons Over To Siohvaughn Wade For Summer Visit

A Miami-Dade family court judge has ordered Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade to turn over his two young sons to his ex-wife for a previously scheduled visit, according to a report July 30 on GossipExtra.com.

Wade filed an emergency motion last week seeking to justify his decision not to allow Siohvaughn Wade-Funches to visit with their sons, Zaire and Zion, amid concerns about her mental health, according to news reports. A past agreement had stipulated that Wade would make the boys available to his ex as part of a summer visitation schedule and an arrangement where she gets to spend at least two weeks a month with them.

Judge Antonio Marin had scheduled 30 minutes for the emergency hearing, but proceedings dragged on for well over three hours as attorneys from both sides vigorously defended their client’s position, news reports added.

According to GossipExtra, the judge did order Wade-Funches to undergo a psychological evaluation after attorneys for the NBA star detailed examples of her recent erratic behavior, including an incident earlier this month where she paced up and down the blazing-hot streets surrounding a Chicago courthouse carrying signs claiming to be homeless and insisting Wade had abandoned her.

Attorneys for Wade told the court that since their 2007 divorce he has paid his ex at least $25,000 a month in alimony, as well as footed the bill for her mortgage and for at least four cars she owns. Late last week, he also agreed to make another $5 million lump payment to her.

Neither Wade nor Funches attended the hearing, according to GossipExtra, which added Wade is expected to retain sole custody of the children.
